Cantaloupe - Milk Chocolate - Silky Body
While most will associate Bali with its luxury resorts, the Indonesian island has steadily built its reputation as a high-quality coffee-growing region.
The Kintamani highlands is home to numerous family-owned farms and offers rich, volcanic soil from Mount Agung, making it a perfect spot to grow coffee.
Certified organic and shade-grown under a canopy of citrus trees, the area’s coffee crops are usually found grouped around a ‘Subak Abian’, an ecologically sustainable irrigation system developed by Hindu priests more than a millennia ago, as part of the historical practice of ‘Tri Hita Karana’, a philosophy that focused on finding a balance between the earth, humans and god.
Natural processing was easy to implement, with raised drying beds already being used in the area. This helped during droughts and gave it's coffee an added quality we can taste today.
Expect a light ‘funk’ from the processing method and a fresh juicy cantaloupe melon-like fruitiness. As the coffee ages, we get an intense milk chocolate note that takes over the cup and pairs perfectly with its delicate and silky body.
This is a great all-around coffee that can be brewed however you see fit, although we recommend drinking it without any additions to appreciate the more subtle flavours it offers.
