West Java - Frinsa Estate - Natural
This full‑bodied natural coffee comes from the Frinsa Collective, a smallholder cooperative in West Java, Indonesia.
It offers a bright, balanced profile with notes of red apple, fig, and cinnamon.
Enjoy it as espresso or filter.
Java Frinsa Estate is a leading specialty coffee producer based in the Bandung Highlands of West Java, Indonesia. Founded by Wildan Mustofa and Atieq Mustikaningtyas, the estate blends technical precision with a strong family legacy, now carried forward by their son, Fikri Mustofa, who is stepping into a key operational role.
Spanning multiple growing zones across West Java, including Weninggalih, Mekarwangi, Tilu Mountain, Pengalengan, Malabar Mountain, and Garut, the estate cultivates a diverse range of varieties such as Typica, Sigararutang, Lini S795, Andungsari, Borbor, Timtim, P88, Ateng Super, and Blue Mountain.
Frinsa was established in 2012 as a direct response to environmental challenges in the region, including landslides and flooding caused by deforestation and poor agricultural practices.
The project was designed to produce world‑class coffee while restoring ecological stability.
Today, Frinsa’s sustainability model is deeply integrated into daily operations: coffee is grown under mixed shade trees that stabilize slopes, organic matter is returned to the soil as natural mulch, wastewater is treated through bioremediation systems, and coffee pulp is composted into organic fertilizer. Mucilage is repurposed into cascara, ensuring full use of the harvest and minimizing waste.
Beyond their own estate, the team works closely with selected smallholders through the Frinsa Collective, processing cherries under direct supervision to maintain strict standards of agronomy, post‑harvest control, and traceability. This model provides partner farmers with stronger market access and long‑term price stability while extending Frinsa’s quality ethos across the region.
Java Frinsa Estate represents a modern Indonesian coffee model, transparent, environmentally grounded, technically advanced, and built for consistent excellence.
Their ongoing work supports sustainable land use, family‑run agriculture, and the continued elevation of Indonesian specialty coffee on the global stage.
